ANU has an established international reputation for economics education. Degrees offered by the Research School of Economics (RSE) provide students with a greater understanding of the way individuals behave in a complex world. They are trained to recognise and solve economic problems, to analyse and make policy recommendations, and to make effective management decisions. Graduates are expected to have the capacity to become leading professionals in their fields of employment after gaining adequate work experience. With that in mind, the core units of the economics major emphasise the analytical techniques required for economic understanding, exploration and effective decision making.
