Biography
Richard Cornes first joined the ANU as a lecturer in 1972. Since then, in addition to many papers in peer-reviewed journals, he has written two books: Duality and Modern Economics (CUP, 1992) and The Theory of Externalities, Public Goods and Club Goods (2nd edition, CUP, 1996).
His research has mainly concerned market failures involving public goods, open access resource exploitation and other externalities. For the last few years his main interest has been in developing ways of exploiting the aggregative structure of the noncooperative games that lie at the heart of many economic problems.
He is particularly interested in supervising students wishing to do research on the analysis or application of "aggregative games".
