The Centre for Economic History builds on the fine tradition at the ANU for leadership in the field of economic history research in Australia. It involves a network of the most innovative economic historians and promotes interchange and collaboration, drawing on a wide range of expertise in Australia and overseas. The Centre for Economic History fosters scholarship through a variety of linkages, projects and events. It takes a thematic approach and seeks to set the research agenda by pioneering new topics and by promoting historical understanding through the use of modern methods of analysis in economics and business studies. It will also provide a forum for disseminating research in economic history to an audience that includes academics in economics, business studies and other disciplines, policy practitioners and the public at large.
